At buycoffee.to, we believe supporting passion should be as simple as sharing a coffee together. But behind every “coffee” there is a system that makes sure your funds are safe and that the entire platform operates in line with the law.
Before you request your first payout, we ask you to complete the verification process. Verification also unlocks the option to enable recurring payments on your account, also known as subscriptions.
Why is verification needed and what do you need to prepare? Here is the explanation.
Why do we need your details? Safety first
Verification is not only our internal standard. It is also a legal requirement. As a platform that facilitates the transfer of funds, we must comply with anti-money laundering regulations, known as AML.
This helps us ensure that:
- support goes to real creators,
- the platform stays free of fraud and abuse,
- your finances are processed fully legally.
Do not worry. Your data is safe with us. We process it in line with GDPR and our Privacy Policy. We never share it with other users and we do not sell it to third parties.
What information will we need?
Depending on whether you operate as an individual or an organization, prepare the relevant details.
1. For individuals:
- first and last name and PESEL,
- citizenship and country of birth,
- identity document details, type, number, and expiration date,
- residential address.
2. For organizations, companies, foundations:
In addition to your details as the authorized representative, we will ask for the organization’s details and information about beneficial owners. We need to confirm that the person creating the account is authorized to represent the organization.
What does the process look like in practice?
After you enter your details in the form, the system will ask you to confirm them. You can do this in two ways:
- mObywatel
- Identt system, where you take photos of your ID card or passport
Often the process is completed automatically within a few minutes. Sometimes your profile needs to be reviewed by a specialist. If verification does not go through right away, do not panic. Our team will check what happened and get back to you within a few days.
What do the different statuses mean?
If you open your dashboard and see a verification status, here is how to read it:
Awaiting confirmation. All good. Your request has reached our specialist. We usually review it within one business day.
Unverified. Something went wrong. You likely need to correct your details or provide an additional document. Check your email or the messages in the form for instructions.
Verification in progress. This means the process was interrupted. Try again and make sure you accept all required consents.
One and done
Verification is a one-time step. Once your identity is confirmed, you can forget the paperwork and focus on what you do best: creating.
