Support me so that I can support young Ukrainian refugees in Poland
Hello, my name is Anastasiia. I was born in Ukraine and moved to Poland when I was 17 y.o.
I am a 26 y.o. licensed psychologist and a crisis intervention specialist.
For 2,5 years I have supported Ukrainian refugee teens in Warsaw - often alone.
Youth aged 12–20 years received support, had a safe place to come and a trusted adult (me).
There are 17 000 Ukrainian children and teenagers in Warsaw: some of them are depressed, suicidal, lost or have no trusted adults.
This youth has fled war, is facing many psycho-social challenges, from family abuse, eating disorders, to bullying, and much more.
They receive help from many different organizations, yet this help is very far from what is needed.
They need a community. They need people they can trust.
This club gave them:
A safe space to come, and a trusted adult (me)Psychological supportLanguage & social educationA third place: not home, not school, but theirs
Since Jan2023 I used my own savings and also asked for NAFO donations to get the club running. I decided to stop my activity in other long-term projects and focused my efforts on helping youth.
Documents: diploma, registration (via Google Drive link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1iq1uffLM3WzlyME7YTJ7ewGOLI95yzzB?usp=sharing)
I have been occasionally working for some short-term projects to cover my living expenses.
Furthermore, I have sold some of the things I treasured. I did not have any vacations (except for going back to Ukraine to visit my family).
Since Aug2024 my foundation started cooperating with one of the Warsaw community centers. We don't need money to cover rent for the youth club. Thank you so much, dear Warsaw!
Support me to cover my living expenses. This way, I will support Ukrainian teenagers in Warsaw.
